DAL PALAK !!!!!!




INGREDIENTS:-

Palak/spinach, washed and chopped - 1/2 kg
toor dal - 2 fistful
turmeric pow - 1/4 tsp
garam masala pow - 1 tsp
onion - 2 medium
tomato - 1
garlic - 7 flakes
ginger - 1/2 inch
green chilly -2
salt as needed

METHOD:-

1. Pressure cook dal with a pinch of turmeric pow, slit green chilly and chopped palak. Mash it well and keep it aside.
2. In a kadai. heat oil/ghee add finely chopped onions, finely crushed ginger and garlic and saute till onion becomes golden brown.
3. Add finely chopped tomatoes, garam masala pow and cook till tomatoes become mushy.
4. Then add cooked palak-dal, needed salt and mix well and bring it to a boil.
5. Remove from the fire and add a tsp of ghee(i skipped this).

and here's an tip :-

If u don't have garam masala pow at home while making north indian side dishes, mix all the other powders you have at home like pav bhaji masala, chole masala, thandoori masla, kitchen king masala etc and add it to the gravy.
